Addressing knowledge gaps in generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) care

argenx supports the global healthcare community’s independent initiatives (e.g., research, quality improvement, and education) to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need that are aligned with argenx medical and scientific strategies. The purpose of this RFP is to enhance education for healthcare professionals (HCPs), specifically general neurologists, neuromuscular specialists, nurses, and physician assistants, involved in diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with gMG. Our intent is to fund educational initiatives that are designed to close at least one of the following independently identified healthcare gaps; however, other independently identified healthcare gaps are also encouraged to be included:

Areas of Interest

  • Improve knowledge in recognizing the burden of disease patients experience including:

    • Progression from ocular MG to gMG
    • Increased risks of crisis in earlier stages of disease
    • Impacts of delayed diagnosis on disability
    • Evolution of pathologic alterations of the neuromuscular
    • junction (NMJ) in gMG
  • Improve knowledge and competence of current treatment-based guidelines for the use of targeted therapies such as FcRn antagonists to potentially address the unmet need in earlier stages of gMG
  • Enhance understanding of individualized dosing, management and mitigation of treatment related adverse events

Target Audience and Geographic Scope

  • The intended learner audience can include the following:
  • General neurologists
  • Neuromuscular specialists
  • Nurses, Nurse Practitioners (NP’s)
  • Physician assistants (PA’s)
  • The geographic scope for this RFP is US based healthcare practitioners.

RFP Timeline

  • Application submission deadline – September 12, 2024
  • Anticipated decision notification date – October 18, 2024
  • Activity start date must be after – November 15, 2024
